In November of 2016, Childreach International held the Girls Education Summit in Nepal. The summit's goal was to raise awareness about the importance of education for girls of all ages. Various objectives were voiced at the event, such as having adequate child protection groups in all schools, and beginning a zero tolerance policy on discrimination as it relates to the right for girls to have an education.
Summit leaders acknowledged that other factors were needed to make girls feel valued and included in their studies, such as permitting them to play sports, and bringing boys into the conversation on gender equality. The summit also stated that parents, government, and civil groups needed to come together and work to help girls stay in school and committed to learning.
